Position at Everyday Health - Consumer

The Opportunity: 
theSkimm, a part of Everyday Health Consumer, is hiring a Social Producer to assist the social team in creating content and executing strategies across platforms that build audience, engender brand affinity, and support business goals.

We create the articles, podcasts, videos, etc. that power our website, newsletters, podcasts, social channels, and more.
 
You'll be responsible for creating both organic and promotional social media content across all of theSkimm’s current and potential platforms. This role reports to the Senior Social Media Manager. 
 
What you'll be doing:
  • Conceptualize, create, edit, and publish high-quality, social-first content (photo, video, Reels, carousels, captions) across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
  • Produce a high volume of original content that is platform-native, culturally fluent, and aligned with theSkimm’s voice.
  • Conceptualize and execute repeatable franchises and recurring series, both static and video 
  • Support video production efforts as needed, including interview ideation, pre-production planning, and assisting with in-office and on-location shoots. 
  • Cover major live cultural and news events in real time (e.g., award shows, sports championships, political moments, notable finales) with smart, fast, and shareable content.
  • Analyze performance metrics, audience behavior, and platform insights to inform creative decisions and drive growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Editorial, Newsletters, PR, Marketing, and Partnerships teams to align messaging and extend the reach of social content across all theSkimm properties.
  • Own the marketing and promotion of key company initiatives with direct business value, including newsletters, podcasts, subscription products, and brand partnerships.
  • Occasionally present and interpret social performance data in team and department-wide meetings.
Job Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience creating social content for a media brand, publisher, or consumer-facing company.
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, trends, and best practices as well as how to evolve strategy as platforms shift.
  • Comfort appearing in video content when needed.
  • Proficiency in Figma or other creative tools 
  • Ability to translate performance data into clear insights and turn those insights into actionable content strategy.
  • Exceptional writing skills and grammatical precision; accuracy is non-negotiable.
  • Balanced, business-minded approach to content – an appreciation for creating work that both builds audience and supports revenue goals.
  • Equal creative energy for promotional and marketing content as for organic storytelling.

The Company provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience and geographic location. The salary compensation for this role is $60,000 to $70,000.  Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
